5 Sparks?

I jumped the gun a little with the title of my blog. More info to follow...

Memory Lane

You have to admit it was exciting. At least for the first week. We haven't seen snow like this in years and it's finally going away. I enjoy the way it slows everyone down so they are forced to take walks in the neighborhood, forced to spend time with family and forced to take unplanned days off. I think it's God's plan.

We have a competition going with our neighbors Bob and Luzy. He goes crazy and decorates for Halloween and Christmas, we just do Christmas. Last year we both did a nice light display and the transit light tour buses came by to see. We were thrilled that we were part of the tour so we made it even better this year. Well, the tour was canceled due to "budget cuts", but we've enjoyed them none the less.

I won't tell about Don getting stuck in the driveway in the truck, and me and the Beemer doing just fine because I don't want to embarrass him. Thank goodness for traction control and 4WD, right?

It's not often you hear a collective "I wish it would rain"!

Ta Da!

Well, I didn't want to be alone so here it is. Also, I've been so freakin' bored being stuck in the house that...well...I didn't have anything better to do right now!

It snowed all day starting about 10AM. We watched the morons trying to drive (and get stuck) from the comfort of our kitchen window. Jaime and I walked to Fred Meyer to get groceries and alleviate our cabin fever. By the time we walked that half mile we were sweating, although I guess it could have been the fact that we both ran the last 300 or so feet because she thought that a "short cut" through deep snow would be faster than me going through the car-driven, hard packed roadway. Although it was longer, the walk was easier. We actually got there at the same time, but we both cheated and ran. We are so competitive! (Speaking of competitive...Don and I both couldn't think of Elaine from Seinfeld's boyfriend's name so we both ran to our phones to google it to see who could get it first. Do you know his name? BTW-Don won.)

I got some great video of Jack jumping in the snow. He had a blast. Jaime and I started an igloo but then were rudely interrupted by Don throwing snowballs which actually turned to hard packed ice balls that hurt when they hit so then I took him down (ok...I tried, he won again) and Jaime jumped in and I think she went down too. Anyways, we got rid of him and got back to work but then were cold so we quit.

I love the snow and am so glad we FINALLY got hit with a decent round of it.
Stay warm, stay safe.
